Event Details
On World Oceans Day, people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all. Lovers Key State Park will be hosting a World Oceans Day Celebration on June 9th from 10am-2pm.
Join us to discover how you can help protect and preserve one of our most important natural resources and the marine wildlife which depends on it for their survival through a variety of intriguing nature tours and programs. Celebrate the ocean with your friends and family at the beautiful Lovers Key beach with fun ocean themed games and activities!
The Worlds Ocean Day Celebration will take place at South Beach area of the park. Games and activities will be setup around the Lovers Key Beach Gazebo and on the beach. Nature tours and programs will be held or begin at the Beach Gazebo.
Lovers Key World Ocean Day Celebration Schedule of Events:
Activities & Games from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM:
• Junior Ranger Activity Kits
• Ocean Themed Recycling Crafts
• Beach Photo Scavenger Hunt
• Beach Games like Coral Hole (Cornhole), Horseshoe Crabs (Horseshoes), Coral Reef Atoll Toss (Ring Toss), Tidal Ball & More!
• Support the Lovers Key Welcome & Discovery Center opening in Late 2020 by purchasing your own famous “Lovin’ at Lovers Key” T-Shirt or Tank Top!
Nature Tours & Programs:
10:00 AM: Sensational Sharks Talk
11:00 AM: Junior Ranger Adventure! Shorebird Walk
11:00 AM: Sea Turtle Talk
12:00 PM: Wrack Line Walk
1:00 PM: Magnificent Manatees Talk
Lovers Key State Park’s Facebook Page will be posting updates as new programs and activities are added. Make sure to like Lovers Key State Park- Park Site to keep up to date!
FEES: All activities and programs are free with park admission. Park Admission rates are: $8 Vehicle (2-8 People), $4 Vehicle (1 person), $2 Pedestrian & Bicyclists. Vendors will have food and drinks available for purchase or bring your own beach picnic (do your part and try to pack it all in reusable containers!).
