This facility is an innovative, cooperative venture between Lee County Parks and Recreation and the Lee County School Board. Most of the facility is an independent recreation center that is open to the public throughout the day. The gymnasium is dividable and shared with Lexington Middle School during the school day and during school special events. During the evenings and weekends, the recreation center uses the entire gymnasium. Other amenities include a weight room & fitness center, aerobics and dance rooms, computer lab/classroom, meeting rooms and a game room. A variety of free and fee-based programs are provided by contracted instructors. A one-time fee of $10 per person or $25 for a family is the only requirement to become a lifetime member of the facility! Additional Weight Room membership is $20 a month, $80 for six months or $120 a year. If you haven't been by, come take a tour! Wa-Ke Hatchee Park includes two lakes, walking trails, a playground, a dog park, tennis courts, pickleball courts, shelters, restroom facilities and a parking lot with an entrance off of Bass Road.
