Synopsis of "Reticent | 'Cause Black Boys Can't Cry"

“Reticent | 'Cause Black Boys Can't Cry,” is a short film that journeys the life of a young black male attempting to balance various environmental traumas while living in a disenfranchised inner-city community. Combating societal expectations and external pressures beyond his control, the young man ultimately develops an (undiagnosed) mental illness and faces recurrent thoughts of committing suicide.

Community Screening Information

Written and directed by Antwon Lindsey, the screening of "Reticent" is an evening of art, celebration, and community. Prior to the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, network with local influencers, enjoy LIVE music. Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive Q&A session with the Director & Cast.
